Marketplace Disclosure

What MileBid is
MileBid is a neutral technology marketplace that provides a software venue connecting shippers with independent transportation service providers. MileBid is a technology platform. It is not a motor carrier, broker, freight forwarder, or transportation provider of any kind.
What MileBid does NOT do
- MileBid does not arrange the transportation of property.
- MileBid does not set, suggest, or negotiate prices.
- MileBid does not automatically match shippers with providers. Shippers explicitly select the quote they accept.
- MileBid does not sign contracts of carriage. The contract is between the shipper and the service provider.
- MileBid does not issue bills of lading.
- MileBid does not guarantee delivery, condition, performance, or any other outcome.
What MileBid does
- Displays listings posted by shippers.
- Allows independent service providers to browse listings and post quotes at prices they set themselves.
- Facilitates messaging between users (technology only).
- Processes payments through Stripe with a payment-protection hold. Funds are held by Stripe — not by MileBid — until both parties confirm delivery.
- Displays service providers' FMCSA credentials, insurance, and ratings. Display only; MileBid does not endorse.
- Charges a 10% technology fee (5% from each side) for use of the software platform. This is a fee for access to the technology, not a commission on transportation services.
Service providers are independent
Every service provider on MileBid is an independent business operating under its own FMCSA authority and insurance. Service providers are not employees, agents, or representatives of MileBid. MileBid is not the service provider's broker, dispatcher, or freight forwarder.
Cargo, delivery, and liability
The relationship of carriage is between the shipper and the service provider. Cargo damage, loss, late delivery, or non-delivery is the responsibility of the service provider, subject to applicable law and any contract between the parties. MileBid is not a party to that contract and has no liability for the carriage of goods.
Dispute resolution
MileBid provides a dispute process tied to the payment hold during the funds-holding window. Resolution of cargo claims, however, remains between the shipper and the service provider and their respective insurers. The platform's role in disputes is administrative (releasing funds per resolution), not adjudicative of the underlying carriage claim.
